Reminder: Partner Demo Showcase
Every Wednesday in the DC office, when we wrap up our Shark Tank Blitz session, I ask each of the partners to share a 2 sentence value proposition about themselves.
Why are you better/different than anyone else?
Truth be told, only about 5% of partners, IMHO, have a good answer for this question.
It's not impressive to everyone in the room to say:
"We also do hosting"
"We're a typical Infrastructure partner."
"We do Sharepoint development"
These don't create memorable points of reference in the minds of the Microsoft team, other partners, and most importantly, your prospects.
If you only have 2 sentences to make an impact, think about what you're going to say, practice it, and do it. I'll highlight some memorable ones in the next few days.
This upcoming Wed., for partners coming to the blitz, we're going to give a few brave partners the oppty to whip out their laptops, give us a fiery 5 minute demo/presentation, whatever, that makes an impression. Tell us (better, show us) why someone should pay you to solve their problem.
You'll get critical feedback, yes, but in the end, you'll be better off.
Practice makes perfect. Better to mess up in front of us than a prospect, right?
Heh...no one is going to show up on Wed., are they?
