Hi John, I am new to the Tablet PC (just got my Lenovo x201t) and I noticed OneNote 2010 ink jumping or disappearing seemingly randomly. I installed the patch and it has made no difference so far. Just thought I'd give you a little feedback. Any tips would be greatly appreciated since I bought this for University and OneNote is impossible to use for notes so far. Thanks! P.S. I am on Win7 64bit with OneNote 2010 32bit.Anonymous

OK, it looks like you still have the beta and the patch will only work with the RTM build. You can get the trial at http://microsoft.com/office if you want to try it out.Anonymous

A couple of our students (I'm the tech guy) are still have intermittent issues with this even after patching and rebooting. I am unable to replicate the problem myself. One student today had made notations on an image locked in as a background and when he left the page and came back the writing had shifted upward. Any ideas?Anonymous

This update is no good. Thanks to onenote 2010, my lecture notes are all messed up. Even better, converted 2007 notes are as bad as shifted 2010 notes. Typical microsoft. I'm going back to 2007Anonymous

Dave - looks like there is still a shifting problem. Back to work - I apologize for the errors. sdf - did the ink shift after the patch, or was it moved before installing? The patch can't repair ink that already shifted.Anonymous

the shifting bugs are for the most part fixed... it still happens intermittently, but not quite as often.... meaning that ink notes are almost there as far as usability.... what happens I think is that the little boxes for the ink elements change in width... I'm not sure if that helps, but I've fixed a few shifting errors by resizing them, otherwise I can't wait for a chisel style pen!!! :)Anonymous

Teachers at my school are having similar issues with Word 2010. Our Tech Admin has mentioned something about it being an issues with tables being inserted into the document but I can't find any other references to ink issues other than with OneNote. Any ideas who I might be able to contact? Thanks.Anonymous

I also have the same problem with ink shift constantly. I cannot install fix as it says "unexpected version" even if I have the RTM relase version. I am also unable to install 2007 after 2010, but let's hope I find how before all my notes are just good to throw away.Anonymous

Hey John. Just wondering if you had any more information regarding another fix. We have some students using other programs or pen and paper (especially for assessments) while the new fix is being worked on.Anonymous

Hello John, i have the same problem with Office Professional Plus 2010 (German), Ver. 14.0.5128.5000 (32-bit). The patch is already installed. It has fixed most of the ink shifting and resizing problems I had, but it sometimes still occurs when scrolling. I have one example of it (ink shifted) with an unaffected backup made by OneNote 4 hours before. I can send it to you if you want. Please release a fix soon, more than half of my notes are waste. I'm very disappointed by Microsoft. Thank you. FelixAnonymous

Hi Do you know if there's a solution for the ink shifting problem in onenote 2013 ? ThanksAnonymous

Treat all handwriting as drawing is the really large, overkill fix. In the interim, I will contact the team and see if someone will follow up if you are willing to share a page on which ink was moved. I'm sorry about this ...
