Team System 2008 shipping soon
In case you're not an avid reader of Soma's blog (why not!?), I just wanted to make sure everyone heard that we're very close to shipping Team System 2008 and expect to make it available by the end of this month. This will include all of the team editions (Development, Database, Test, Architect, Suite) as well as the Load Test Agent and of course Team Foundation Server. It's kinda funny but it seems that several times a week people ask me if TFS is shipping at the same time as the rest of Team System and the answer is absolutely yes. We missed the VS2005 train and I don't want to repeat that experience any time soon. :-)
It's really exciting to be so close to being done. Of course it's always very nerve wracking to be this close too since seemingly little things can throw off the end game. I'm in meetings nearly everyday working through the final details of the release and I can tell you that everyone is laser focused on wrapping up any last minute issues and getting this puppy out the door. Many thanks go out to those of you in the community that have helped us along the way by providing feedback and helping others get up and running with Team System 2008. We've made a lot of changes based on your feedback. For those of you that are waiting for the final release before really evaluating it, I think you're going to be quite happy with what we've done.
Woohoo!

Asier - I don't know what we're saying publicly about localized version availability. I'm certain that it's not simultaneous with the English release but beyond that I'm not sure. I'll check with folks on our team and get back to you when I hear from them. jeffAnonymous

That is: 'Microsoft has announced the Visual Studio 2008 and the .NET 3.5 platform new version (RTM), in english, available now for MSDN subscriptors, and confirming for the first half of January 2008 the Spanish version.' :) Regards, Asier
