And the winner is.....
Thanks to the 823 people who entered the Windows Vista Lanyard competition. I've not had the time to read every entry but rest assured the ones I did read were very funny indeed. The lanyards seem to attract alot of interest from Russia - I'm sorry guys but I can't understand your emails - however, that's not to say you can't win!
A quick reminder of the question I asked, which was: "How often do you wear a Lanyard?"
So here are the lucky winners along with their winning answer!
- Jessie Jason M. Macalinao from Manila, Philiphines - who said:
I wear a lanyard every time I go to my university; not that it is required, but it [along with my ID] gives me the sense of identity. A Windows Vista lanyard might give me a different sense of identity – a higher one, I guess.
Yup, that’s my answer. I hope that mouse (either computer-related or real) of yours selects this entry.
- Irina from Moscow, Russia - who said:
Hello, Mr. Senior!
My name is Irina, I am from Russia, Moscow.
I write to you in occasion of competition.
Similar lace I use every day: one for a mobile phone, another for my flash storage device
It would be healthy to receive lace with a trade mark long-awaited Windows Vista!
Good-bye, Mr. Senior.
- Sergeant Robert Kacmarcik from Racine County Sheriff's Department, Racine, Wisconsin - who said:
Ha. . . . . ! ! ! ! !
More hours than I am awake !
Would sure be the only one in the Midwest now, wouldn't it . . . . .
Thank you..... Pick me, Pick me !

- Josky Jara from Lima, Peru - who said:
I waer almost twice a week J
- Александр from Russia? - who said:
I am sorry for my bad English.
Good afternoon, I here have decided to participate in competition. I use a cord very often, at me on a cord my handheld computer Dell x51v weighs, and I without it(him) as without hands, hope, that I shall be one of those lucky beggars who will receive a cord.
- Master Warrant Officer Don Cansfield from Nepean, Ontario, Canada - who said: I am in the Canadian air force working in Ottawa Canada where our national headquarters in located. It is a real competition who can obtain the best lanyard which we wear our identification pass everyday at work. We tend to get a lot of lanyards from various companies, trade shows etc and I think this would be a terrific and highly sought after lanyard as no one else has one.
- fordmaks from Russia - who said:
дравствуйте, к сожалению я живу в России и очень плохо знаю английский язык поэтому лучше напишу на русском.
я пользуюсь шнурками постоянно, всегда висит мобильный телефон на шее и флешка, я был бы просто счаслив получить шнурок Windows Vista!
- Al Lilianstrom from the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Batavia, Ilinois, US - who said:
Monday thru Friday. Weekends too if I end up at work. My office is in a controlled access building and my ID is the access and it is on my lanyard.
A Vista lanyard would force my Red Hat Linux lanyard into retirement.
- al
- Kári Víká from nearby to Sweden, or maybe not - who said:
In my whole life I've only worn a lanyard once. Because I only own one lanyard and it's with sweden on it, and I'm not even from sweden. But that Vista lanyard looks very cool, and I like the colours.
- Agent Chris Lindner from Precinct 517, Charleston, SC - who said:
This is Senior Counter Intelligence Agent Lindner with the Geek Squad.
While working at the Geek Squad, one Agent is deemed the key-bearer, and thereby has keys hung about their neck. During any given time, there is always a devoted key-bearer. At present, we are woefully geared with a plain black, dull, and partially broken lanyard. We would be honored to flaunt the wondrous Vista Lanyard, to make our precinct the envy of all other precincts.
Again, thanks to everyone who entered - now I've got to talk to my boss about shipping costs ;-)
