Check Out the New Compatible Applications Website!
Just this past week, the Windows Embedded Standard 7 Compatible Applications website was completely re-launched with a new design, new documentation, new templates, and refactored templates. Gone is the static HTML view we had in the past; replacing it is a dynamic site that’s searchable and sortable and includes expanding rows to more easily view only the information on the templates that you want and need.
By refactoring many of the templates, we removed unnecessary packages that had little to no impact on the application’s functionality and decreased the footprint needed for the application to install and run. For example, the footprint of the 32-bit Silverlight 4 template was decreased over 350 Megabytes, from 1.36 GB to 1.01GB. Below are all of the templates that we fixed and refactored, making them more efficient & useful to you as a developer
- Adobe Reader 9
- Citrix Offline Plug-in 6
- Citrix XenApp Plugin for Hosted Apps 11
- Microsoft Office Excel Viewer 2007
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2007
- Microsoft Office Visio Viewer 2007
- Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2007
- Microsoft Silverlight 4
- Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007
- Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007
- Symantec Endpoint Protection 11
- Windows Live Mail
- Windows Live Messenger
- Windows Live Photo Gallery
- Windows Live Toolbar
- XNA 3.1 (64bit only)
We also replaced some old templates with new, by removing the JRE 1.5 template and replacing it with 1.6, and removing the old eTrust Antivirus template and putting CA Antivirus 8.1 in its place.
