New Optimized Desktop Resources
Over the past couple of weeks some new resources have come online for helping to understand and deliver the Microsoft Optimized Desktop Solution. Optimized Desktop is about delivering a flexible environment to a user based on their requirements and encompasses delivery of the desktop via combinations of rich full client, session based desktop (Remote Desktop Services or Terminal Services) and/or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). We then layer in technologies such as Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) and User State Virtualization (USV) for delivering a truly flexible workspace to the user.
New resources that you may find useful when looking for Optimized Desktop information:
- The UK TechNet folks have created a new Optimized Desktop page giving you Nine Steps to deploying Optimised Desktop - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/gg548704
- Microsoft Services (the consulting division that most of the Deployment Guys work for) have a new Optimized Desktop site with case studies, scenarios and strategy - https://www.microsoft.com/microsoftservices/en/us/optimized_desktop.aspx
