Git for Windows 2.6.3 on Win10

I recently had to install Git for Windows version 2.6.3 on my Windows 10 machine.

After installing the product, I hit the following error message every time, I wanted to synchronize a remote repository:

Cloning into 'test'...
fatal: unable to access 'https://xxxx.xxxxx.xxxxx/DefaultCollection/_git/test/': error setting certificate verify locations:
CAfile: C:/Program Files/Git/mingw64/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt
CApath: none

The error commes from the fact that Git installs on Windows 10 with a configuration file that points to a non existing path.

To fix it, simply look for and edit the file C:\ProgramData\Git\config

Change the line that starts with sslCAInfo and mofidy as follows

[http]
sslCAInfo = C:/Users/<username>/AppData/Local/Programs/Git/mingw64/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt

git should  now be working as expected.
