MSDN Flash Editorial - Expression Web and Tech Ed NZ teaser

Great news last week for those of you in the web development space, thanks to the great feedback from the developer community we’ve decided to release Expression Web and Expression Blend (when released) as part of the MSDN Premium subscription. Expression Web is a great product if you are wanting to create standards compliant web pages in a nice WYSIWYG editor. I particularly like how easy Expression web makes developing ASP.Net Master Pages.

Now that Expression Web is available for MSDN Subscribers, it makes Expression more accessible. If you dont have a MSDN subscription and want to get either Visual Studio Team Edition for Database Professionals or Visual Studio Team Suite (which includes Database Professional) we have a couple of promotions (10% off VSTS DB Pro and 20% off VSTS) going that you can take advantage of. You can get full details of the Expression announcement here.

You may also recall that I’m managing content for Tech Ed this year. We are already well underway recruiting US speakers, and we have some very cool speakers lined up, so I thought I'd throw out a couple of teasers...

Firstly its great to be able to tell you that we have confirmed that Nikhil Kothari is coming to Tech Ed New Zealand!  Nikhil is the key architect of ASP.Net AJAX, but also has some other strings to his bow including the server controls framework of ASP.Net, Web Matrix and Script#.  More details on what Nikhil will be talking about at a later date.

Another speaker we are thrilled to have coming is Michael Platt.  Michael is an Architecture guru and a fantastic speaker who is working in the Software + Services space at Microsoft in the US.  Michael will have a couple of talks, and I'm sure you Web 2.0 architecture geeks will be very interested in what he has to say.

Tech Ed 2007 early bird registration is now open, and represents a saving of around $300 for an individual registration over the full price.  Remember - last year we sold out by the end of the early bird period, so get in while you can!

On events - dont forget that MEDC in Australia is on in May - register on the MEDC website.
