Australian Partners win 8 Awards at Worldwide Partner Conference

Microsoft Australia  is proud to recognise the winners and finalists in the 2009 WPC Awards Program. These partners have developed exemplary solutions for their customers during the past year, and demonstrated the ability to optimise their use of Microsoft technologies to meet critical business needs.

This year the awards program had 69 awards and nearly 2,000 entries. I am happy to let you all know we did really well winning the 8 following awards:

Security Solutions, Infrastructure Security Partner of the Year

Data#3 , Australia

Data#3 is well established as a Microsoft partner in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular strength in collaborating with Microsoft field teams to bring identity and security solutions to enterprise and corporate clients in Australia. Data#3 works with clients to tie security strategies to business objectives, so that security becomes an enabler for business, which mirrors the Microsoft Business Ready Security strategy. Data#3’s entry outlined several customer success stories, including one in which Microsoft Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 was deployed by a federal agency to displace a legacy portal solution and enable secure access to e-learning and other portal content housed in a new Office SharePoint Server environment. This solution has increased the richness of content available to users, significantly reduced the number of service desk calls, and improved the security of content publication to more than 84,000 users.

Mobility Solutions Integration Partner of the Year

Ensyst , Australia

Ensyst created a seamless end-to-end mobile solution combining Windows Mobile with Microsoft Office Communicator, Exchange, and Office SharePoint. Ensyst’s solution delivers executive scorecards, messaging, and collaboration to its highly mobile customers—boosting delivery accuracy, enabling customers to be more flexible, and allowing faster decision making. Ensyst’s solution provided five hours per week of additional productivity to one customer’s executives through mobile devices, and reduced cross-site approval turnaround time by 50 percent with automated workflows.

Custom Development Solutions, Application Infrastructure Development Partner of the Year

Kiandra System Solutions , Australia

Kiandra System Solutions has created a vertical industry solution that has become widely available outside its targeted industry of physiotherapy and physical therapy. This solution is described as “OneNote meeting the mesh” with the rich experience and capabilities of the PC leveraged through Web-connected systems that enable individuals to communicate and capture data in unprecedented ways. The solution shows how the software-plus-services model creates a multiplier effect—when client and server systems are combined for the benefit of the user and the organization, it results in new ways of working in a range of industries. The core application is available on the Internet as a free download and has a business model based on usage measured by data synchronization. This solution clearly demonstrates what can be accomplished by experimenting with business models.

Large Account Reseller Partner of the Year

Dimension Data , Australia

By demonstrating the value of Microsoft licensing expertise, software life-cycle asset management skills, and professional services, Dimension Data has seen the highest year-over-year growth in its market. It has driven significantly higher desktop deployments by using a creative sales approach to large customers. When Dimension Data identified a challenge with its customers’ continued investment in Software Assurance, it implemented the Microsoft Home Use Program. This single benefit redemption helped support technology adoption across 22,567 desktops, proving the value of continuing with Software Assurance and maintaining Enterprise Agreements (EAs) through a calculated benefit to customers of Aus$1.2 million. In addition, Dimension Data further quantified the value of training days and cold back-up servers to secure the highest rating of satisfaction for its customers. Dimension Data’s consistent message to customers is that the Microsoft EA is not an expense to minimize, but an asset to be used for deploying and leveraging software to solve business problems.
