International Women's Day Luncheon
Over 350 people joined together to celebrate the success, leadership and influence achieved by women in the Australian ICT industry on International Women's Day 8 March 2006. Photographs of the event are available on the FITT website
https://www.fitt.org.au/events.html.
The speakers were Senator the Hon Helen Coonan, Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Michelle Tredenick, National Australia Bank's CIO and Caroline Heinze, Nortel's National Manager, Enterprise Channels & Marketing for Australia & NZ. You can find Sen Coonan's speech here.
I hosted a Microsoft corporate table, and it was a rare opportunity to gather 10 of my very favourite female architects that I work with in the one place, in addition to those ladies from Sydney, Lois and Susan even came up from NZ and Melbourne respectively! We had a great time chatting about careers/babies/life in general! I'm definitely going to host another table at the next FITT event!
