Man dies from online addiction

This is most bizarre and very sad.

A 'new media' 54-year-old addict, unable to take a rest from his online world, has died from from starvation.

For the seven weeks prior to his death, he posted comments into one forum or another on an average of every 30 seconds, while refusing to eat anything.

" He also contributed to 375 blogs and was expected to start an online column about the impact of interactive communications on health, when he died.

According to his wife that his last words were "OK Picard, stick that in your pipe and smoke it..."

A virtual memorial service will be held online at a date to be determined.
