Windows defender writing too much

Question

Hello. I am in the process of searching for excessive records on the system disk and one point surprised me. Why do you think Windows Defender writes 2.3 GB per day, but reads only 2 GB per day? In theory, its task is to read files, and not to conduct an excessive number of records on the disk. The screenshot below is the result of records for 48 hours in ProcMon.
