Filescrn template export

Exports file screen templates to a file.

Note

To use this command, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group.

Syntax

filescrn template export /file:<Path> [/template:<TemplateName] [/remote:<ComputerName>]

Parameters

Description

/file:<Path>

Exports file screen templates to the XML file at path Path.

/template:<TemplateName>

Exports only the template TemplateName. If the parameter is not specified, by default all templates in the file are exported.

/remote:<ComputerName>

Performs the operation on the remote computer ComputerName.

Remarks

  • You can use the XML file created by this command for importing quota templates by using the Filescrn template import command.

  • The shortest sequence of characters that uniquely identifies a parameter can be used as an abbreviation. For example, the following two commands are equivalent:

    filescrn t e /f:screeningtemplates.xml
    filescrn template export /file:screeningtemplates.xml
    
  • To perform operations on a remote computer by using the **/remote:**ComputerName parameter:

    • You must be logged on with a domain account that is a member of the Administrators group on both the local computer and the remote computer.

    • The remote computer must be running Windows Server 2008, and File Server Resource Manager must be installed.

    • The Remote File Server Resource Manager Management exception on the remote computer must be enabled. You enable this exception by using Windows Firewall in Control Panel.

    Note

    When you export templates on a remote computer by using the /remote: parameter, the XML file specified by the /file: parameter is saved on the local computer.

Examples

  • To export the Screened Files template on the local computer to the file D:\screenedfiles.xml, type:

    filescrn template export /file:d:\screenedfiles.xml /template:"Screened Files"
    
  • To export all file screen templates on the remote computer FILESERVER1 to the local file D:\filescreens.xml on the local computer, type:

    filescrn template export /file:d:\filescreens.xml /remote:fileserver1
