Configure dial-in constraints

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To configure dial-in constraints

  1. Do one of the following:

    • Open Routing and Remote Access, double-click Routing and Remote Access, and then double-click the server name to expand the console tree.

    • Open Internet Authentication Service and, if necessary, double-click Internet Authentication Service.

  2. In the console tree, click Remote Access Policies.

  3. In the details pane, double-click the remote access policy that you want to configure.

  4. Click Edit Profile.

  5. On the Dial-in Constraints tab, specify any required settings.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group. As a security best practice, consider using the Run As command rather than logging on with administrative credentials. If you have logged on with administrative credentials, you can also open Routing and Remote Access by clicking Start, clicking Control Panel, double-clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-clicking Routing and Remote Access.   • To open Internet Authentication Service, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Internet Authentication Service.

  • Dial-in constraints should work with most network access servers, however, some network access servers might not support the RADIUS attributes that are required to enable dial-in constraints. For more information, see your NAS documentation.
