Create or select the group you want to install the Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) resource into. By default, the DTC resource will install into the first group it locates that has an IP, Name, and Physical Disk resource, unless you identify a specific group. |

Use the New Resource Wizard to create the resource. Make the Distributed Transaction Coordinator resource dependent on the Physical Disk resource. |
Important
In Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and later service packs, DTC provides the administrator with additional settings that control the level of authentication required between computers involved in transactions. However, there are limitations in the way you can use these settings in a clustered environment. You cannot use the Mutual Authentication Required transaction mode with computers that are in a clustered environment, or any computers that are negotiating transactions with such computers. In that context, you can use the Incoming Caller Authentication Required transaction mode instead.
