Navigate the style hierarchy using the breadcrumb bar
When you are in the editing scope of a style or template in Expression Blend 2, a breadcrumb navigation bar appears at the upper left of the artboard.

The breadcrumb bar appears for any selected object that can have a custom style or template applied to it.
To navigate the style hierarchy using the breadcrumb bar
- By clicking the buttons on the breadcrumb bar, you can quickly move through template-editing mode, style-editing mode, and object-editing scope for the selected object.
To create a style or template resource by using the breadcrumb bar
Select an object on the artboard or under Objects and Timeline that supports styles and templates. For example, select a button.
At the top of the artboard, select the breadcrumb button that appears.
Note
If the object does not support styles or templates, the breadcrumb button for the object is unavailable.
From the pop-up menu that appears below the breadcrumb, select which kind of resource to create.
