Property Value

The NotificationServices object for the Instance.

Remarks

Updated text:5 December 2005

Updated sample code:5 December 2005

Each Instance has a parent NotificationServices object. You typically supply the parent object when you create the Instance using the Instance(NotificationServices,String) constructor.

If you set the parent in the constructor, do not set the parent using this property. Setting the parent twice throws an exception.

Example

The following examples show how to use this Parent property when using the default constructor:

// Create instance and set required properties.
Instance myInstance = new Instance();
myInstance.Name = instanceName;
myInstance.Parent = notificationServices;
myInstance.SchemaName = "dbo";
myInstance.EncryptArguments = false;
' Create instance and set required properties.
Dim myInstance As Instance = New Instance()
myInstance.Name = instanceName
myInstance.Parent = notificationServices
myInstance.SchemaName = "dbo"
myInstance.EncryptArguments = False

Thread Safety

Any public static (Shared in Microsoft Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
