Metadata (Browser Tab, Cube Designer) (SSAS)

Use the Metadata pane on the Browser tab in Cube Designer to browse the structure of the cube, such as measures and dimensions, as well as to drag elements to the Report and Subcube panes on the Browser tab.

Options

• Metadata
  Displays the metadata available to the perspective selected in the Perspective option of the Toolbar pane.

  Drag selected items to the filter, data, row, or column areas of the Microsoft Office 11.0 PivotTable control in the Report pane to display the data for the selected item.

Context Menu

The following options are available in the context menu displayed by right-clicking an element displayed in the Metadata pane:

Option

Description

Add to Data Area

Click to add the selected measures collection or measure to the data area of the Microsoft Office 11.0 PivotTable control in the Report pane.

Note:

This option is enabled only if the Measures node or a measure is selected.

Add to Column Area

Click to add the selected dimension, attribute, hierarchy, or level to the column area of the Microsoft Office 11.0 PivotTable control in the Report pane.

Note:

This option is enabled only if a dimension, attribute, hierarchy, or level is selected.

Add to Row Area

Click to add the selected dimension, attribute, hierarchy, or level to the row area of the Microsoft Office 11.0 PivotTable control in the Report pane.

Note:

This option is enabled only if a dimension, attribute, hierarchy, or level is selected.

Add to Subcube Area

Click to add the selected dimension, named set, or member to the Subcube pane.

Note:

This option is enabled only if a dimension, named set, or member is selected.

Add to Filter Area

Click to add the selected dimension, attribute, hierarchy, or level to the filter area of the Microsoft Office 11.0 PivotTable control in the Report pane.

Note:

This option is enabled only if a dimension, attribute, hierarchy, or level is selected.

Copy

Click to add the selected item to the Clipboard.

Note:

This option is enabled only if the selected item can be copied.

Filter Members

This option is disabled.
