Report Properties (History Page)

Use this page to schedule report snapshots to be added to report history, and to set limits on the number of report snapshots that are stored in report history.

Options

  • Allow history to be created manually
Select this option to add a snapshot to report history on demand. Clearing this check box has the following effects:

In Management Studio, an error will occur when you select New Snapshot on the History submenu in Object Explorer.

In Report Manager, the New Snapshot button will be removed on the History page.

  • Store all report execution snapshots in history
Select this option to copy a report execution snapshot to report history. This option is valid only for reports that are configured to run as a snapshot. When the snapshot is refreshed, a copy of the report can be automatically added to report history when you select this option.
  • Use the following schedule to add snapshots to report history
Select this option to add snapshots to report history on a scheduled basis. You can create a schedule that is used exclusively for this purpose, or you can select a predefined shared schedule if one contains the schedule information you want. For more information, see Scheduling Reports and Subscriptions.
  • Select the number of snapshots to keep
Select options to control the number of reports that are kept in report history. Report history settings can vary for each report. You can choose from three options:

Choose Use default setting to use the global setting for report history. Global settings for the report server are specified as server properties. For more information about viewing the default setting, see Server Properties (Execution Page).

Choose Keep an unlimited number of snapshots in report history to retain all report history snapshots. With this option, you must manually delete snapshots to reduce the size of report history.

Choose Limit the snapshots in history to retain a set number of snapshots. When the limit is reached, older copies are removed from report history to make room for newer copies.
