Database Role Properties (General Page)
Use this page to view or modify role properties for the selected database. This page is accessed in two ways: either by right-clicking Database Roles in Object Explorer and clicking New Database Role, or by right-clicking an existing role and clicking Properties. If you right-click an existing role and click Properties, some of the following options are not editable.
Options
- Role Name
Enter the role name here. If you are editing an existing role, this option is configurable.
- Owner
Displays the owner of the role.
- Schemas owned by this role/Owned Schemas
Select or view schemas that are owned by this role. A schema can be owned by only one schema or role.
Members of this role/Role Members
Select the membership for the role from the list of all available database users.Note
All users are also included in the public role. Public membership is permanent and cannot be changed.
- Add
Add members to a standard role. If you are creating an application role, this option is not available.
- Remove
Remove selected users from the Role Members list.
