Toolbar (Dimension Structure Tab, Dimension Designer) (SSAS)

Use the toolbar to perform common operations within the Dimension Structure page of Dimension Designer.

Options

Button

Description

Add Business Intelligence

Displays the Business Intelligence Wizard to add business intelligence features. For more information about the Business Intelligence Wizard, see Business Intelligence Wizard F1 Help (SSAS).

Process

Displays the Process dialog box to process the object. For more information about the Process dialog box, see Process Dialog Box (SSAS).

View attributes as

Click to toggle between viewing the Attributes pane in the following modes:

  • List
    Displays a list of attributes for the current dimension. This is the default.
  • Tree
    Displays a tree view of attributes for the current dimension, with member properties for a given attribute displayed as a subordinate note of that attribute.
  • Grid
    Displays a detailed list of attributes, including the Name, Usage, and Type properties, the data type of the key column (if applicable) and whether the name column matches the key column, for the current dimension.

Click the down arrow to select from the three options.

Delete Selection

Deletes the currently selected object.

Show Table

Displays the Show Table dialog box to show a table in the Data Source View pane. For more information about the Show Table dialog box, the Show Table Dialog Box (SSAS).

Hide Table

Click to hide the selected table in the Data Source View pane.

The entire table must be selected, not a column within the table.

Find Table

Displays the Find Table dialog box to find a table in the Data Source View pane. For more information about the Find Table dialog box, see Find Table Dialog Box (SSAS).

Zoom

Click to cycle the zoom percentage, or select an available zoom option.

Show

Click to toggle between the viewing the Data Source View pane in the following modes:

  • Diagram View
    Displays a diagram of the tables and columns associated with the current dimension.
  • Tree View
    Displays a tree view that contains the tables and columns associated with the current dimension.

Click the down arrow to select from the two options.
