New SQL Server Configuration Manager
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 introduces SQL Server Configuration Manager, a management tool that allows administrators to manage SQL Server services and configure basic service and network protocol options. SQL Server Configuration Manager is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that can be integrated with other MMC applications.
New Features
SQL Server Configuration Manager combines the functionality of the following SQL Server 2000 tools: Server Network Utility, Client Network Utility, and Services Manager. SQL Server Configuration Manager also includes the ability to set service properties for the following services:
- SQL Server
- SQL Server Agent
- Analysis Services
- Report Server
- Microsoft Search
- Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC)
- Full-Text Search
