Managing and Working With Published Reports

If you deployed a report server in native mode, SQL Server 2005 provides two tools for working with published reports and other managed content on a report server. You can use Report Manager if you want to manage a single report server instance using a Web-based tool, or you can use Management Studio if you prefer to manage one or more report server instances alongside other SQL Server components that are deployed together on the same system. Both tools provide nearly identical functionality, allowing you to create, delete, secure, and modify items in the same report server folder hierarchy. You can also use these tools to view reports, set distribution schedules, and manage report processing, data connections, and subscriptions.

If you configured a report server to run in SharePoint integrated mode, you can view and manage report server content from a SharePoint Web application. For more information about server modes, see Deployment Modes for Reporting Services.
