QueueType Property

This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature.

The QueueType property specifies the type of queuing to use if a publication allows queued transactions.

Syntax

object
.QueueType [= value]

Parts

  • object
    An expression that evaluates to an object in the Applies To list
  • value
    A long integer that specifies a SQLDMO_REPLQUEUE_TYPE constant as described in Settings

Data Type

Long

Modifiable

Read/write when using the TransPublication2 object to create a replication component. Read/write when the object references an existing component and there are no subscriptions to the publication; read-only if there is a subscription to the publication.

Prototype (C/C++)

HRESULT GetQueueType(SQLDMO_REPLQUEUE_TYPE *pRetVal);
HRESULT SetQueueType(SQLDMO_REPLQUEUE_TYPE NewValue);

Settings

Set the QueueType property using these values.

Constant Value Description

SQLDMOReplQueue_MSMQ

1

Use Microsoft Message Queuing to implement queuing.

SQLDMOReplQueue_SQL

2

Use Microsoft SQL Server to implement queuing.

Remarks

The AllowQueuedTransactions property must be set to TRUE before you can set the QueueType property. QueueType is set to SQLDMOReplQueue_SQL by default.

The Subscriber must have Microsoft Message Queuing installed and configured as an independent client before the QueueType property can be set to SQLDMOReplQueue_MSMQ.

Note

If an application calls QueueType on an instance of SQL Server version 7.0, the constant, SQLDMO_E_SQL80ONLY, and the message "This property or method requires Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later" are returned.

Applies To:

TransPublication2 Object
