AllowIdentity Property

This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature.

The AllowIdentity property exposes the ability of a data type to participate in a Microsoft SQL Server column defined with the Identity property.

Remarks

The SQL Server identity property is defined for data types that can accept numeric values. A column defined with the identity property is defined with a starting value and a step value. SQL Server generates values for the column by querying the last applicable value and adding the step value.
