VARP (Report Builder)

Returns the population variance of non-null values in a set.

Syntax

VAR(aggregate)

aggregate

Specifies the field name or formula to aggregate.

Remarks

  • VARP assumes that its arguments are the entire population. If your data represents a sample of the population, then compute the variance using VAR.
  • Logical values such as TRUE and FALSE, and text are ignored.

Examples

Formula Result

VarP(Sum Total Due)

Returns the variance for the sales sum total that is due. The value returned is similar to the following: 14768854.2951954.
