How to: Align Values within a Cell or Text Box (Report Builder)

The alignment of values in a report layout cell or in a text box can be changed vertically and horizontally. In addition, you can adjust the padding in a cell to increase the distance between the contents of the cell or text box and the edge of the cell or text box.

To align values within a cell or text box

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select the report layout cell(s) or text box that contains the data you want to align.

  2. On the Format menu, click Alignment.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Alignment tab selected.

  3. In the Horizontal list box, select a horizontal alignment option.

  4. In the Vertical list box, select a vertical alignment option.

  5. Click OK.

To change the padding of a cell or text box

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select the cell(s) or text box that contains the padding that you want to change.

  2. On the Format menu, click Alignment.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Alignment tab selected.

  3. In the Padding area, increase or decrease the padding.

  4. Click OK.
