Creating a Group

  Microsoft Speech Technologies Homepage

This topic describes creating a group as part of managing a speech application in the Microsoft Speech Server (MSS) environment. The group displays the MSS server configuration, whether services are distributed or all on one computer.

To create a group

  1. Open an MMC console containing the MSS snap-in.
  2. In the console tree, right-click Microsoft Speech Server and then click Create Group.
  3. Enter a name for the new group and click OK.
  4. In the details pane, right-click the new group folder and click Add/Remove Services.
  5. Click Add, enter the network name of the computer, and ensure the appropriate services are checked.

For a single-server environment, accept the default (both Speech Engine Services and Telephony Application Services). Otherwise select the appropriate service for the computer. Add the Web server later.

  1. Click OK twice.

The selected services are now displayed in the details pane of the console.

If a selected service is not installed on the specified server, the service will not be added to the group.
