Speech Control Editor

  Microsoft Speech Technologies Homepage

Speech Control Editor is the primary development environment for building the components of a speech-enabled application.

Within the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 development environment, Speech Control Editor extends the WebForms Designer to provide a graphical interface for creating the .aspx pages that comprise speech-enabled Web applications. Speech Control Editor integrates the outputs of Speech Prompt Editor and Speech Grammar Editor to allow creation of speech-enabled Web pages.

Speech Controls encapsulate Speech Application Language Tags (SALT) functionality. These Speech Controls extend HTML and XHTML with a small number of SALT elements and objects that add speech recognition input, audio and text-to-speech playback, dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) input, and telephone call control to an ASP.NET Web application.

By choosing an .aspx Web page in the development environment, Speech Control Editor is activated, allowing placement of Speech Controls on the Web page.
