Remarks

The workflow runtime calls this override to send an email message to the specified user or users.

This override constructs the email message with the subject as specified by the Subject property, the body as specified by the Body property if it is not null , to the specified user or users specified by the To property. It sends a carbon copy (CC) to the user or users specified by the CC property, if it is not null , and a blind carbon copy (BCC) to the user or users specified by the BCC property, if it is not null . This override always returns Closed.

This override throws an InvalidOperationException exception if it cannot find a service to handle the external request.

Visual Studio 2005 Designer for Windows Workflow Foundation does not support this workflow activity. This workflow activity is designed to be used in a declarative, code-free workflow, for example, in a workflow you might create by using a rules-based, code-free workflow editor such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007. As a result, the workflow activity might not include functionality, such as registering for workflow events, that might be used in compiled workflow assemblies that are created by using the Visual Studio 2005 Designer for Windows Workflow Foundation.
