This topic describes the tools that you can use to manage Commerce Server staging.
The main tool for Commerce Server staging is the standard Microsoft Management Console (MMC) interface, where you can perform a variety of staging tasks such as starting and stopping the staging service, and creating projects and routes for staging.
You can also use the command prompt interface to type commands that perform various staging tasks. This interface is especially useful for automating your site deployment operations.
Note
To perform tasks that are beyond the scope of the default Commerce Server staging functionality, you can use pre-deployment and post-deployment scripting.
