Running the DTS Tasks

This section provides instructions for running the Data Transformation Services (DTS) tasks. You use the Commerce Server import DTS tasks to import data into the Data Warehouse.

You run the DTS import tasks in sequence so fact data is imported first, and then dimension data.

The following list shows the order in which you must run the Commerce Server DTS tasks to import and transform data in the Data Warehouse:

1. Run the Configuration Synchronization task.

2. Configure Web log files.

3. Import data (run the Web server log, transaction, catalog, profile, and marketing data import tasks).

4. Transform and maintain data (run the data deletion and report preparation tasks).

5. Data is ready for reporting and analysis.
