Business value

The circularity metrics reports in Microsoft Sustainability Manager help you to work towards a circular economy, which promotes sustainable practices and stimulates innovation. These reports can help track progress on improving the use of circular raw materials and the circular design principles of finished goods. They meet the requirements of disclosure standards such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Feature details

This feature brings more reporting, disclosure, and automated insights to your organization with circularity metrics. Report on circularity metrics for your products and value chain and visualize them with trendlines based on material flow. You can view the reports in a dashboard in Sustainability Manager to accomplish the following tasks:

  • Set a baseline and establish continuous monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities and risks in circularity to start conversations across your value chain to help optimize and close the loop.
  • Report to customers, external stakeholders, and regulatory standards like GRI or CSRD.

The reports take advantage of entities from the Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability data model that simplifies the process of gathering, organizing, and reporting circularity metrics. The reports include circularity metrics in the following areas:

  • Raw material circularity.
  • Finished goods circularity.
