Item Dimensions - Total (report)

The Item Dimensions - Total report shows calculated item entry totals for the dimension levels you specify for a given period.

You specify dimension levels by selecting an analysis view configured with dimension codes, and then picking a hierarchy of how to combine the dimension groups under one another. The report automatically includes location as a dimension.

You can base this report on analysis view entries from sales, purchases, or inventory.

Calculated totals are fully customizable through analysis columns. Analysis columns let you specify:

  • Calculation methods (net change or balance)
  • Item entry source (budget or actual)
  • Analysis type (quantity, sales amounts, or cost amounts)
  • Period and date formula methods for finer monthly comparisons

Analyze data by dimensions

Dimensions are values that categorize entries so you can track and analyze them on documents, such as sales or purchase orders. Dimensions can, for example, indicate the project or department an entry came from. An example is to set up a dimension called Department, then use that dimension when you post sales documents. This way, you can use business intelligence tools to see which department sold which items.
