Hide the Status Bar

This one falls into the “Huh?” category.  If you go to Tools –> Options –> Environment –> General and uncheck the “Show status bar” option.  It will remove the status bar from view.

After:

The only thing I can think of as to why you would want to do this is to get some extra real estate on the screen but, let’s face it, we aren’t talking about a lot of space here.

This is good, but I'd like to know how to remove some of the other borders on the screen. The borders only need to be a pixel or so wider than the actual text they contain, but all borders  and intelli-sense tooltips are literally twice as heigh as the text height. I CAN ONLY SEE 40 LINES OF CODE ON MY 1280x800 SCREEN

I'd love to maximize just the code window (with a shortcut)  then press the shortcut .. and have it pop right back to where it was. Any suggestions?

You get most of code when you move a tab out of the IDE and maximize it.
