Visual Studio 2008 Express ISO image download

As usual Express editions are free but this time you can take this and sit in a remote location and install Visual Studio with no Internet connections. Yes we can download offline .iso to avoid download & install pain.

Please visit, https://www.microsoft.com/express/download/offline.aspx

After downloading you can write them in DVD. This version includes all the Express Editions.

All-In-OneDVD

So enjoy with this light-weight Visual Studio 2008 and have the magic. You can also install .iso by creating virtual drive by using utility such as Daemon.

I downloaded the VS 2008 Express iso, but after burning image to disc or mounting iso thru Daemon tools, I only get a "Readme.txt" file which says: This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification. I am using Windows XP SP2. Need help.

Hi Wriju I got the same problem.  Downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express and tried to burn the iso file onto DVD using Nero, and got this error from Nero: "Sorry, your compilation cannot be written on this kind of disc. Please insert a disc of the correct type or modify the settings of your compilation to make it compatible with the current disc." I am using Vista Home Premium edition.  The strange thing is I could burn the full MSDN library iso file (not the express version) onto DVD on my machine. Any advice? Thank you. Ron

The above URL is correct for the Express download.  But at this Microsoft site the URL that they posted is for the Standard version. Not the Express Edition. The correct URL for the Express Edition ISO is http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/B/5/8B5804AD-4990-40D0-A6AA

Ron, It appears that you're trying to burn the ISO as a CD.  The ISO is actually a DVD ISO. Any ISO file over 750MEG is a DVD ISO. This VS 2008 Express ISO is 849MEG

I'm at a loss for a proper DVD burning software.

@ mozzis, You may try altering the .msi file through Orca tool. I am not sure if this can be done. Else download only the VS for C++.

I realize this is an old article, but for reference... You don't need to burn the ISO. Instead, load WinCDEmu and mount the ISO directly. Very cool.

@apple - any specific reason you need VS 2008 Express. You can use later version of express to open the solution created in VS 2008 Express. Try out the closest version ie VS 2010 Express from www.visualstudio.com/.../download-visual-studio-vs
