Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Francisco Fagas

Who you are?

Francisco Fagas (Microsoft VS ALM MVP), I am a solution architect at InterGrupo Ecuador, where I work as a technical leader in the deployment of custom development solutions, business intelligence, applications integration, collaboration (SharePoint), processes automization with workflows, Enterprise Project Management (EPM), server virtualization and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) consulting with Team System since 2005 version.

What makes you "tick"?

I am a curious person so research is my thing, I am in constant self-education, I like to share my knowledge to the community, this way I can contribute to its growth.

The same place where I live.

Why are you active in the Rangers program?

This is a program that allows us to realize the community needs around VS ALM, through research, experience and the creation of artefacts, based on good practices applicable in the community every day.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?

Visual Studio 2010 Architecture Guidance, in this version of Visual Studio (2010) I saw a huge and necessary change on the tools for architects in comparison with the 2005 and 2008 versions.  This was a change that I have always been requesting, from this, many people asked me “how to do this?”, How to use that?, and then, I have this scenario… how could I apply the new tools? This project was the opportunity to formally share these good practices and my experience with architecture tools.  On the near future will also be available in Spanish.
