Get Outlook working while you don't work

I've got a week's holiday next week to paint the outside of my house. Yes, that's a real man's holiday. None of this lying on a sun-lounger drinking spirits for me. No, this is more of a climbing up ladders and smelling of white spirits type of break. But I'm looking forward to it. Painting is very therapeutic, as will be the three months recovery in hospital if I forget to secure my ladder.

So how, I find myself wondering, can I make sure Microsoft Outlook is working while I'm not? Of course, I have to remember to set my 'Out of Office' message, that's easy. But I can also get Outlook to send more customised messages to certain people or in response to emails containing particular words or marked with a certain level of importance. So they think I'm working when really I'm at the bottom of a ladder nursing broken ribs and trying to get paint out of my eyes.

"How?" I hear you cry. It's all done using the power of rules and a few clever Outlook templates. Check out this great tip on the Office site to find out how. It's really easy. Even I managed this one.

See you when the paint is dry. ttfn.
