The new Microsoft Environment site
With sustainability and improved environmental performance being two of the hottest topics around today, I recently posted a blog about how Wakefield Council are changing their working practices in order to reduce their carbon footprint.
In keeping with the 'green' theme, I thought you might be interested in our new Environment website, which provides information on our commitment to the environment and how we hope to achieve it, along with details on how our newest technologies and developments can help your organisation save money and be more energy-efficient.
One of the best bits for me on the site, which is actually totally unrelated to IT, was the 'Calculate your Carbon Footprint' section. This page linked out to some very shocking statistics about the volume of water it takes to produce staple foodstuffs such as coffee. Which may well make me think twice about having a fourth cup today, making me not just more environmentally friendly but healthier too.
