PSA09 – Schedule 1 Pricing Discount Extended to April 23rd 2010
On May 1st 2009, Microsoft and Buying Solutions introduced the new Public Sector Agreement (PSA09) for the purchase and licensing of Microsoft software across the public sector. The new agreement was introduced with preferential Schedule 1 pricing for aggregated purchasing and Schedule 2 prices for ad hoc purchasing. To promote the agreement, Microsoft allowed all public sector organisations to go straight to Schedule 1 pricing for an introductory period ending on 30 June 2009.
This deadline was initially extended to December 15th 2009 to enable Public Sector organisations to benefit from additional time to evaluate the benefits contained within PSA09, as well as the innovative packages and new pricing models, to ensure that they choose the most cost-effective and relevant solution for their Microsoft software requirements.
In recognition of the need to ensure value-for-money for all public expenditure, we are delighted to be able to inform you that Schedule 1 pricing for individual public sector customer transactions will now be available until April 23 2010.
In addition, Microsoft is incorporating its Open Value Licensing for smaller public sector organisations that may require as few as 5 user licences. This extends the value for money available from PSA09 to organisations such as the smaller community and parish councils and smaller non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs).
