App of the Week - Spotify
Let me introduce you this week the famous application Spotify, that recently announced a new mobile application for Windows Phone 7 users, more than a year after the music streaming service first said it would bring its service to Microsoft's newest mobile OS. The new app, simply called Spotify and available now in the Windows Phone Marketplace
It requires a Phone 7 device running version 7.5 or higher and a premium Spotify account.
Similar to what you find on Spotify's other range of mobile apps, you can search, browse and play music…
The first time I installed Spotify in my Nokia Lumia 800, I was impressed! How I can consult my playlist in the offline mode of spotify… you can create your own playlist and consult it in offlinemode at any time you want. And the most amazing part in this app that you can check out your friends' playlists, stream music over Wi-Fi or 3G, save playlists to your device for offline listening and mark songs as favorites.
With its new Windows Phone 7 addition, Spotify claims it has apps for more mobile devices than any other music service. But a quick check of Spotify's competitors suggests otherwise as most streaming services cover phones running the Windows Phone 7 platform.
The Application description on Marketplace says: “Spotify opens up your Windows Phone to a world of music. With Spotify Premium you can access millions of tracks from
our library, and take your playlists on the go with the Offline mode – no connection needed.
If you haven’t tried Premium before, you can try it on your mobile for 48 hours, completely free. You don’t even need to enter credit card details. Simply download the app and log in*.
If 48-hours isn’t enough, you can extend your trial by 30 days by following the details in the email we send you when you log in.
Features:
- Search, browse & play millions of tracks.
- Explore & play your friends' playlists, top artists and tracks.
- Stream over WiFi or 2.5/3G - all your existing playlists are available.
- Offline playlists

* If you don’t have log in details, just register for a free Spotify account on the Spotify website
. Full Mobile Terms of Use & 48-hour free trial terms and conditions can also be found on the Spotify website.”
As a conclusion, I found that spotify is a really cool app on mobile phone even for my laptop. You can enjoy the music on it! The only negative point that the trial period is only 48 hours. But you can extend your trial by 30 days by following the details in the email that you received when you log in. I really like it and I used it often in my phone and it deserves the premium account.
