Big Sunday: The best wind I've ever experienced in the South East of England

OK so this isn't security related...

It's Monday morning and I can't help but share the most amazing day's Windsurfing I've ever enjoyed.

I live near London in the South East of England - this is generally the best time of year for wind though rarely does it get above 15 mph - yesterday it blew in excess of 20 mph. That doesn't sound significant on it's own. I Windsurf on a large lake that suffers from complex funneling of the wind such that it rarely blows in the same direction for very long - quite often it will actually change direction completely minute by minute.

Yesterday we enjoyed constant South Westerly 20 Mph wind AND sunshine - perfect conditions. Three of us took out 7 square metre rigs (large given the conditions) with 150 litre boards. Each of us went so fast that we were able to jump clean out of the water. Of course we crashed in spectacular style too. On water the biggest risk is of damaging your kit. A crash involves being launched at high speed into the air and summersaulting over your mast together with heaps of white water as you smash back into the water.

If you've ever been Windsurfing in such conditions then you'll know how much fun we had. If not then consider driving around a race track in a convertible car with a powerful engine with all the time in the world.
