Microsoft System Center Management Packs (Community Technical Preview) for SQL Server

Included in the download are Microsoft System Center Management Packs for SQL Server 2008/2008 R2/2012/2014/2016 (7.0.3.0).

Please read if you have more than 1500 database files

When a SQL Server instance has about 1500 or more database files, the Data Files Discovery generates an output, which exceeds the SCOM Agent 4 MB threshold, and then the discovery fails. We added a new "Discover DB Group Seed" discovery to make the MP monitor such instances smoothly. If the data files in your environment cannot be discovered due to the 4 MB threshold, just enable the new discovery. Note that you should not enable it unless you face the problem described above.

  • Disabled Latency Disk Read/Write performance rules by default
  • Added the actual value of available disk space in DB Space monitoring alerts
  • Updated some of the display strings
  • Increased SQL Command timeout in the data source scripts up to 60 seconds (previously it was 30 seconds)
