App-V 5.1 nähert sich dem Ende des Mainstream Supports

Hallo zusammen,

wie man anhand des Lifecycle Katalogs entnehmen kann wechselt App-V 5.1 im Januar 2018 in den Mainstreamsupport. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt wird es nur noch Security Fixes für das Produkt geben.

 

Das es für Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 sowie Server 2008 R2 / 2012 und 2012 R2 keinen Nachfolger gibt sollte man nun schon mal mit den Planung beginnen auf Windows 10 und Server 2016 zu kommen.

Zudem wird mit jedem Release (wie das kommende Creators Update) die Hürde um einen Hotfix in App-V 5.1 zu bekommen angehoben.

I understand from the above lines that App-V is not the recommended on Windows 10 and 2016 but could you please help me to understand if any products replaces the App-V in these operating system

    App-V is built in into Windows 10 1607 and later Enterprise SKU. So there is App-V on Windows 10 - only 5.1 (Standalone) is at the end.
