Microsoft Releases ‘HealthVault’

Hi, I’m Keith Cox, Director of Business Development for Healthcare Global ISVs in the Developer & Platform Evangelism organization. In my role, I focus on driving business opportunities and platform adoption with our largest Global ISV partners. I’m really excited about speaking to you on partnering with Microsoft and how you can benefit from the early adoption of new Microsoft technology. I look forward to hearing your comments and feedback.

Speaking of new technology, last week, Microsoft’s Health Solutions Group hosted an industry event and press conference to broadly introduce our consumer health vision and the availability of our first three consumer products: Microsoft HealthVault, Microsoft HealthVault Connection Center, and Microsoft HealthVault Search. Read more about each of these products and view the complete announcement here.

Over 40 partners were in attendance at this event - key players from all parts of the ecosystem - signaling their early support and recognition of the need for this type of healthcare service.

This is the beginning of a long journey. Our goal with the HealthVault platform is to be a catalyst to bring the healthcare system into the Internet age.

It’s evident that partners are a key element of our overall strategy at Microsoft for existing and new products alike. Some of you know and have experienced the significant value of aligning with us early in the business and product development cycle.

While not all of you can be part of every major product launch, you can still benefit from getting on the bandwagon early in the game by visiting the HealthVault partner site or by downloading the partner SDK directly from MSDN.

In addition, keep your applications on the cutting edge by certifying them with products such as Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Office 2007.

As a partner, early adoption of our products helps drive both of our businesses together. Are you taking advantage of all the resources at your disposal? Do you engage with us as early as you’d like? Do you think of early access to new products and technologies as an essential cost/opportunity of doing business, an investment in your product’s future, or an investment you cannot afford?

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Keith Cox
