Microsoft Announces Winners of Ingenuity Point Competition

Microsoft is proud to announce the three first-round winners of The Ingenuity Point Contest: TR Control Solutions, Tobii Technology, and OSIsoft.  These powerful ISV solutions were selected for their innovation and use of platform technologies (among other criteria), and are excellent examples of how passionate people and innovative software can drive positive change in the world. The winning solutions also demonstrate the benefits of Software + Services and OBAs.

  • TR Control Solutions of Surrey, United Kingdom, developed ecoDriver Schools, a solution that helps teachers and school administrators monitor and manage their consumption of power, water, paper and other resources, and empower students to make a positive impact on the environment.
  • Tobii Technology of Stockholm, Sweden, developed an eye-tracking solution that helps people with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis and spinal injuries to communicate, navigate the Internet and write email, using only the movement of their eyes.
  • OSIsoft of San Leandro, California, USA, developed a solution for companies in manufacturing, utilities and other process industries to more closely manage their water supplies and reduce the cost and energy associated with treating water and wastewater, ultimately reducing their carbon footprint.

TR Control Solutions, Tobii Technology, and OSIsoft will be joined by a second round of three grand prize winners that will be announced in the spring of 2008.  If your company has developed an innovative software solution addressing a challenge in education, healthcare or the environment, now is the time to enter.  The submission deadline for the second round of judging is February 28, 2008.

Cheers!
