One of Japan's Top Banks Adopt MS stack for SOA Implementation
In conjunction with Microsoft and Unisys Hyakugo Bank has successfully launched BankVision. The three year project went into production on May 7th, 2007. Hyakugo Bank is the leading regional banking institution in Mie prefecture, and it has an A- rating from Standard & Poor’s, the third highest rating among all domestic Japanese banking institutions.
Based on research by the S-BITS Consortium into online banking needs, Bankvision is said to be the first full banking system designed for Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition and SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition.
Bankvision is based on component architecture that was originally developed by Nihon Unisys using object-oriented design combined with a service-oriented architecture approach.
BankVision is providing a range of key functional and technical enhancements including;
- Provide the rapid development of new financial services based on the component architecture with SOA
- Increase agility and efficiency of the internal business processes, such as decision making for loans and rating by loan support systems
- Extend service hours of ATMs and Branch Offices through 7x24 non-stop operations
