Microsoft's Support of Financial Services Standards
There seems to be a bit of confusion in the financial services community about Microsoft's commitment to industry standards. As many of you know, on the technology standards side (WS-*) Microsoft is the clear leader in this space. On the industry side Microsoft is devoting time and energy in the industry standards communities. I have been devoting a lot of my time to IFX, ACORD and FSTC boards and working groups. We have been investing in the building industry software factories to jump start development efforts of the financial services community.
So what's included in an industry software factory:
- Provides you the help needed to build a specific line of business application
- Incorporates a variety of guidance content types and form factors
Architecture and design guidance, patterns, and how-to’s - Reference implementations
- Application blocks
Pre-Built Industry Factories
We have created several factories or reference architectures that use the latest industry and technology standards. We have full support for these schemas at the technology level and have partners that support these through BizTalk adapters. Currently we only have a SWIFT and MISMO accelerator. Here are the ones you can find today:
- Loan Origination Reference Architecture Pack (Full Guidance Coming Soon with the Loan Reference Architecture Pack)
- Global Bank Integration Baseline Architecture
- Build Interoperable Systems with .NET 3.0 Technologies
- Microsoft Insurance Value Chain Architecture Framework
- Banking Integration Factory
- BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT
