and the pundits say Vista won't ship.

Jim Alchin just sent a mail out internally and to the beta testers worldwide that Windows Vista RC1 is officially done (vista_5600.16384.060829-2230). You can read the letter on the Windows Vista Team Blog. Folks over at Neowin.net posted an entry about it with links to screenshots and more info about RC1.

For those of you who are Mobility inclined, Vista will feature the new Vista Sync Center that will make synching and managing devices a whole lot more easier.

 

at the same time Vista RC1 is done, the .NET Framework 3.0 RC1 is also done. Featuring capabilities such as WCF, WPF and Cardspace. Go download the .NET Framework 3.0 - Release Candidate and the SDK for RC 1 of Wndows Vista and .NET Framework 3.0 and give them feedback.

    I'm tired of using just beta software this whole year! Vista, Windows Mobile v.Next, Office 2007, Exchange 2007, IE7, WMP11, Orcas.....

    It's going to be so sweet to use real shipping products next year. At least for a few weeks anyway until we jump on the next release cycle...
