Hibernating Vista

Not MSMQ-related but something that has irritated me.
When I upgraded my laptop last year to Vista, I had to fiddle with it to get Hibernation working, as documented in:

920730 How to disable and re-enable hibernation on a computer that is running Windows Vista
https://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;920730

I needed to run powercfg.exe /hibernate on to get Hibernate to re-appear as one of the shut-down options.

But after a while it disappeared and I had to re-enable it again... Pah!

Looks like I was running into this:

929846 You cannot put the computer into hibernation after you run the Disk Cleanup wizard in Windows Vista Enterprise
https://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;929846

"This problem occurs if you select the Hibernation File Cleaner check box when you run the Disk Cleanup wizard. Hibernation File Cleaner removes the hibernation file and turns off hibernation ."

It seems someone gets a bonus related to the number of KB articles written as you also have:

929658 The Hibernate option is not available in Windows Vista
https://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;929658

and

928897 The hybrid sleep feature and the hibernation feature in Windows Vista may become unavailable after you use the Disk Cleanup Tool
https://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;928897

Digging further, I notice that there's an update to resolve USB problems after recovering from sleep/hibernation:

925528 Reliability update for the USB stack in Windows Vista
https://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;925528

and a hibernation-specific hotfix available:

928135 A Windows Vista-based computer stops responding when you resume the computer from hibernation
https://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;928135

neither of which I seem to have! {click... clickety-click...} That's better. Now my laptop should sleep like a baby.
